I am an environmental, street, and studio portrait photographer living in Brooklyn, New York. I was born in Guyana, South America, and moved to New York at the age of ten. I earned a bachelor's degree from Purchase College and an MFA degree from the San Francisco Art Institute.
My work has been exhibited at institutions such as the Caribbean Cultural Center in New York City, the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum in Washinghton DC, the New York Public Library's Schomburg Center, and the Yale University Art Gallery in New Haven, Connecticut.
My work is also in private collections as well as the collections of the Caribbean Cultural Center in New York, Columbia University's School of Social Work, the NYPL Schomburg Center, and the Yale University Art Gallery, among others.
I am able to connect with people no matter their station in life and earn their goodwill and trust as a photographer and a citizen. I see the person and seek to illuminate the spirit as it presents itself - from the seemingly mundane to magical gestures.
